"Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and, walk in it, and find rest for your souls." (Jer 6:16)
Restoring the ancient paths of Christian worship needs to be a top priority for this new generation, given the growing trends of seeker-sensitive, consumer-driven, and entertainment-oriented "worship services" that often do not follow biblical patterns for how we are to worship the Triune God. When the Church embraces the ancient paths of Christian worship, it becomes a prophetic witness to a fragmented and distracted society, offering clarity, hope, and stability amid cultural chaos. Transformed by worship, we engage the world with the Gospel, living as witnesses to Christ's kingdom in our homes, workplaces, and communities, preparing the way for spiritual awakening and societal transformation by the Gospel.
The following ministries help to equip the body of Christ for worship renewal, evangelism, and discipleship:
WORSHIP EQUIPPERS RETREATS
This retreat day features multimedia-assisted teaching that explores the ancient paths of Judeo-Christian worship. It also explains how the ancient liturgies of the Church, found in resources like the Book of Common Prayer, can help equip individuals, families, and churches to cultivate a liturgical lifestyle of daily worship. Participants will also learn how to use signs, symbols, and sacred art to help bring the kingdom of God to life for our searching world.
TIME WITH THE SHEPHERD RETREATS
This retreat offers a refreshing worship encounter. It explores how our Good Shepherd cares for His sheep and provides applications of pastoral care, evangelism, and discipleship. The musical instruments of the Psalms accompany times of praise. The ministry also introduces worship resources that individuals and families can use to cultivate a lifestyle of daily worship.
SACRED ART RETREATS
Ephesians 2:10 declares, "For we are His workmanship (work of art) created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Because our Creator has created us in His image, we are blessed with creativity to help make the kingdom of God come alive for this generation through the arts, including music, dance, drama, mime, painting, sketching, sculpture, pottery, woodworking, writing, poetry, banners, processions, iconography, signs, symbols, multimedia technology, and more. This retreat day helps retreatants to discover, ignite, and develop their creative gifts!
OIKOS RETREATS
OIKOS (Greek for "house or extended household") evangelism focuses on how churches can evangelize their communities, beginning with family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers through the ministry of hospitality. This retreat features teaching from the Acts of the Apostles and the Book of Nehemiah.
ANCIENT SONGS RETREAT
This one-of-a-kind worship encounter features a deep dive into the life-transforming waters of the Psalms accompanied by Davidic instruments, which bring spiritual refreshment, hope, and healing for those who want to come away to rest for a while.
Over the years, our ministries have been provided in various venues, including homes, church facilities, retreat centers, sheep farms, monasteries, seaport towns, and conference settings. They can be adapted for one—or two-day formats.
